Rules & Guidelines

Ignorance of the law is no excuse,
nor is ignorance of the site rules.

Chat Emporium is not public domain, it is privately owned and operated and as such CE is a benevolent dictatorship, where Kaptin is God ... that's the best form of government when the dictator is benevolent ... because then you know who decides who lives and who dies ... it's one person, and they have to live with it all.

Experience has shown that certain rules/guidelines have to be implemented for the sake of all chatters. These rules are in effect in all rooms and are not meant to upset you or interfere with your chat experience.

Chat Emporium reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. It is up to you to keep informed of any rule changes that might occur.

Chat Emporium reserves the right to ban or refuse entry to this chat site to anyone it wishes at anytime.

In addition to the general rules below, each individual room has its own theme and therefore may have certain rules posted on it's entry page. Please read them.

- RENTED ROOMS: These rooms are managed and hosted by individuals who have payed to have a room at CE. Their individual rules and requirements are posted on the entry page. These rules, in conjunction with the GENERAL RULES as listed below, constitute the rules for that room.

- ROLE PLAY: All role play activity is to be kept within the designated Role Play rooms. Anything outside of those rooms is strictly "OOC". An "OOC" tag is not necessary and overly large role play av's must be kept within the designated Role Play rooms. Please read the rules and those that are on the room's entry page.

GENERAL RULES:
Room Owners, CE Staff and Moderators do not give warnings out as a joke. A warning of any kind, is to be taken seriously as in their opinion you are in err and failure to comply with their request could lead to you being removed. Harassing or arguing with a room owner, CE Staff or moderator is not permitted. If you have an issue, discuss it with them in private or you could find yourself getting booted or gagged.

Not every situation that may occur is covered by a rule and that is why the rules of this site are modified from time to time but room owners, mods and staff do have the last say, so if something that has happened warrants you being spoken to by a room owner or mod then a new rule is generally born. ... it is up to you to keep up to date with the rules.

If there are complaints about you and your actions you may be stopped from coming to Chat Emporium.

If you are a constant complainer you may be stopped from coming to Chat Emporium. There must be some reason everyone hassles you.

Treat others the way you yourself would be treated.

This chat site has a "0" Tolerance to Bullshit Policy
which is enforced.

Something worthless, deceptive, or insincere.

Insolent talk or behavior.

Speak insincerely or without regard for facts or truths.

Before entering a room, USE a name people can identify with. SINGLE letters or single characters and other symbols or punctuation marks DO NOT qualify as a viable name. As an example the name *B* works, but the name B or *%$ does not.
Private messages are not to be re-posted openly for others to see. Doing this could get you booted.
No open or public cybering or sexual scening unless permitted in the room you are in. If in doubt, don't.
No one under the age of 18 is allowed in any room.
No posting of any images relating to, or insinuating child pornography, beastiality, scat, watersports, dismemberment, mutilation, death or rape.
Names/avatars which suggests minors for sex are not permitted.
Rape scening is forbidden in all rooms. No exceptions.
The use of names, avatars or other images, as well as posts that are hateful and/or promote racism, religious or sexist bigotry or are intended to be insulting or hurtful to others are not permitted.
Overly large avatars are not to be used. Recommended size is 330 pixels in height. Most rooms will allow 350 pixels high and if you go over that there could be reprocussions. The Av size is usually mentioned on the rooms entry page.
Posting of Java scripts, html codes or excessively large images that disrupts the streaming of the room or intended to be harmful to chatters in any way or intended to crash a room are not permitted and will get you thrown out and banned.
Posting of personal information of any kind about another person or yourself is not permitted.
Arguing in public and thereby disrupting the room is not allowed. Take it "Private".
Impersonating another chatter is not allowed. Ie: cloning or imping as it's called. Doing this will get you banned.
Real time or virtual time threats against anyone are not allowed and could get you banned or reported to the authorities.
NO means NO.
Excessively foul or abusive language is not permitted.
No Stalking! This may result in your being removed.
No Loitering or lurking, meaning reply when spoken too or this may result in your being removed.
Sexually explicit images and av's are to be kept to the rooms where they are permitted. Sexually explicit images include wide open spread shots, hard on images, fellatio, cunnilingus, full penetration, etc. Use some common sense.
Soliciting, Hotlinking or Advertising of other chat sites, chat rooms or message boards or other items not associated with Chat Emporium, the room owners at Chat Emporium or Chat Emporium's sister sites is NOT PERMITTED. CE's sister sites: Sizzling Chat, Sensuous Chat and CDOE. Chat Emporium is a chat site, not a free advertising arena.
Squelching a mod, room owner or admin is not permitted and will result in your being booted.
Continually popping in and out of a room, and saying nothing at all, could get you booted as it is viewed as you being an interruptive nuisance.
Sexual predators, those seeking sexual favours, and those who are here to take advantage of others may end up being banned from this site.
Chat Emporium is not an av test arena. Post them to yourself in PM or use the Av test room
Continually changing av's, mouse overs or rearranging your image alignment is frowned upon and could get you in trouble.
From time to time the owner or mods of this site may need to contact you regarding rule violations or potential problems. When doing so you will be contacted via the private message function. Please be aware that pm restrictions and collars are invalid when site business needs to be discussed.
Do not bring issues from outside this chat site into this chat site and expect a mod, room owner or CE staff to deal with it. Chat Emporium staff, it's room owners and moderators are not responsible for what you do in other chat sites, on MSN, Yahoo, Skype, ICQ, your telephone or your private life.
Don't make accusations about others without due thought as people do have feelings, even in chat. Treat others as you yourself would be treated. If you are only stirring the pot, then you yourself could get busted.

GUIDELINES:

Use your "squelch" button to suppress any posts from any chatter. Select the persons name in the "to" box and click "squelch"

Click on "config" and set "squelch by" to "ip" or "Network".

Click on "config" to set filters to disable pics, images etc.
